Maple Daze

Springtime maple seed pods and alder tree bark are embedded into encaustic medium. This work has held up very well. Encaustic is an ancient painting method that uses melted beeswax combined with a special tree resin to create a versatile painting medium with properties well suited to embedding objects, collage and other techniques.
