In my long fascination with natural materials, I gathered these materials on our Island. The paper wasp’s nest is perfect in its construction and is whisper light yet strong. The lightweight branches are from a neighbour’s garden pruning refuse pile. They are perfect in their complex articulation. Moss and lichen form a mat at the hand’s base. In the background of this photo is a large painting of mine. There is in another photo in the painting catalogue.
